Embassy of Spain celebrated the St. Jordi’s (St George) Day on 23rd April 2010. They requested a poster and bookmark to support a small event in Kinokuniya Orchard. After various proposals and ideas, we finally came up with the illustration depicting the story of St Jordi slaying a Dragon to save a Princess. This story is very famous and has been translated into paintings by many famous artists.
We used the stained glass artwork style, as usually seen on churches, for the illustration since St Jordi is related to Christianity. We also did the bookmark in a shape of a Spanish castle to support the illustration so it looked like it’s a stained glass artwork in the castle.
